Abstract：In this paper, BiOBr/diatomite composite photocatalyst was prepared by the method of hydrolysis-deposition using Bi(NO3)3.5H2O, KBr, and diatomite as raw materials. The photocatalytic property of the composites was investigated with tetracycline as a target pollutant under 50W LED light irradiation. The effects of catalyst dosage, pH value, and light sources on tetracycline removal in suspension photocatalytic system were investigated. The results indicated that the hierarchical BiOX was loaded on the surface of diatomite in schistose. The photocatalytic degradation rate of tetracycline was up to 91.3% under the optimal reaction conditions as follows: 30mg/L initial dye concentration, 0.10g catalyst dosage, 50W UV LED light irradiation, and 50min. The photocatalytic reaction process was more in line with the second-order reaction kinetics.
