Abstract：Objective This paper briefly describes the institutional setting, cooperation mode and specific countermeasures of Swedish national action strategies, and provides suggestions for the antimicrobial resistance control in China. Methods Search and integrate the domestic and foreign literature, on the response to antibiotic resistance in Sweden. Results Swedish national action strategies on antimicrobial resistance are implemented at both national and local levels. They establish an antimicrobial surveillance system, monitoring bacterial resistance trends and setting upper limit of antimicrobial prescription. They also take measures to prevent nosocomial infections, reduce animal use of antibiotic and increase public awareness of antimicrobial resistance. Conclusion China can learn from Swedish national action strategies on antimicrobial resistance as follows: Establish a special management agency and national monitoring network for antimicrobial resistance; control the use of antibiotics in animal husbandry; regulate public and professional drug-use behavior through health promotion.
