Abstract:Objective To isolate and identify the structures of active secondary metabolites from the culture broth of strain CD5872, and preliminarily identify its producing strain CD5872. Methods Strain CD5872 was identified by polyphasic taxonomy. Compound CD-1, identified as an active secondary metabolite, was purified by ion-exchange column chromatography and silica gel chromatography. The chemical structure of CD-1 was determined by HR-ESI-MS, NMR, HPLC analysis, and data comparisons with those reported in the related literatures. Results The strain CD5872 was affiliated with the genus Streptomyces olivoreticuli. The compound CD-1 was identified as destomycin A. Conclusion To our best knowledge, it is the first report which shows that destomycin A is produced by a Streptomyces olivoreticuli strain. Moreover, it is a safe and efficient insecticide and antibiotic, which has enormous economic values.
