Abstract:bjective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of azithromycin combined with erythromycin in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia. Methods Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of azithromycin combined with erythromycin in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia were retrospectively analyzed from the CNKI, Wanfang Database, VIP Database, PubMed and the Cochrane Library. Results A total of 97 RCTs were enrolled in this study and 9,198 patients with mycoplasmal pneumonia were enrolled. The total effective rate, the fever time, the cough disappearing time, the hospitalization time, the cough disappearance time and other indicators of azithromycin combined with erythromycin in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia were better than azithromycin or erythromycin only. Conclusion The overall efficacy of azithromycin combined with erythromycin in the treatment of pediatric mycoplasma pneumonia was superior to azithromycin or erythromycin only. However, these results need to be supported by more multi-center, double-blind, large sample RCTs.
